Hoyles Lane traffic calming
2nd of September, 2022
Residents will be aware that Taylor Wimpey were required to realign the junction of Hoyles Lane and Sandy Lane outside Cottam Post Office as a condition on their planning consent.
The re-alignment started in August 2021 but as the work on site differed from the approved scheme, the works were suspended and 'temporary' traffic lights were installed.
Further works were carried out in February 2022 and the road was eventually re-opened with a giveway priority feature.
Residents informed the Parish Council that the feature is causing problems for properties on Hoyles Lane and their concerns were forwarded to LCC Highways who replied as follows -
There are further highways works to take place shortly outside the Post Office on Hoyles Lane with the reconfiguration of the junction with Sandy Lane.
As part of these highway works there will be additional traffic calming measures installed on the approach to the priority working, subject to the satisfactory outcome of the statutory consultation required for this.
As the Parish Council was unaware of any further traffic calming measures, we requested a copy of the plan which can be printed / viewed from the PDF in this article.
Residents will be able to comment on the plan when the statutory consultation is advertised by LCC.The Parish Council will endeavour to keep residents updated on this matter.
